K a t y P e r r y‘s reign as the pop music queen of summer 2010 is not letting up. In the first week of release, her new single “Teenage Dream” set a record for the most pop radio station adds ever in one week. 87 stations added “Teenage Dream” to their playlists. Now the song is already sitting at #30 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart with a grand total of 118 stations listing the song. That is only 24 stations short of the highest total for any song on the chart. “Teenage Dream” opened at #20 on theBillboard Hot 100 this week based primarily on its strong digital sales. Next week look for the song to crash into the top 10. Meanwhile, “California Gurls” continues its torrid sales pace by crossing the three million sales marker in just 11 weeks. That ties it with Flo Rida’s “Right Round” for making it to the three million sales mark in the shortest time.
